Block Plane 2-1

Model 2 Number 1 - First attempt at peening instead of using fasteners. Lessons learned: peen over a few sessions to allow for heat and stress relief to better hide pin outlines (I think anyways…); it’s more fun than tapping, but not any faster or cleaner looking; it is very satisfying when complete. I like this plane a lot. First time using the Hell’s Forge which was excellent fun. The iron is razor sharp after grit on a stone, and the twice sliced finger will attest. It gives whatever size shavings you like. Multiple ways to hold it for light or heavy pressure as needed. 303 stainless steel sole, brass, O1 tool steel iron, natural walnut with helmsman finish. 6” long, 2” wide, 45* bevel up, 1/4” sole, 1/8” sides.
